Disney Springs & Boardwalk - Orlando

Thursday, March 24, 2026

While I was in Orlando I met up with a friend who was also there for work. He works walking distance from Disney Springs so I parked there and we got our steps in walking around.

First stop was happy hour at The Edison. He knows the bartender so we enjoyed some samples of a new cocktail he created and some discounted food & drinks. I got the Strawberry Fields Forever $10 (Wheatley vodka, St. Germain, lime juice, local honey, and strawberries) which is always my go to there.

Next stop was City Works where I got the Banana Painkiller $15.95 (Giffard Banane Du Bresil, yer's rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, cream of coconut) which was tasty, makes you feel like you're on vacation.

Next, we decided to take a bus to the Boardwalk because I have never been to Cake Bake Shop and wanted to see it. It's beautifully extravagant inside, filled with glitter, flowers, and chandeliers. I had to try their signature Black Swan $21 (Ketel One vodka, espresso, St. George NOLA coffee liqueur, Five Farms Irish cream liqueur, vanilla syrup) and it was so yummy. They dusted everything with edible glitter, such a fun place.

For dinner, we tried Summer House on the Lake since it was another place I have never been to. To drink, I got a Pink Sangria $14 (rose, peach, blueberry) which was deliciously sweet. To eat, I got their caramelized Brussels sprouts $14.95 (balsamic vinegar, grana padano) and the Miso Glazed Faroe Island Salmon $36.95 (carrot-ginger sauce, stir fry snow peas). The Brussels sprouts were good but the salmon was just ok, not great and not worth the price to me. I hear they have a happy hour with martinis and fries so I will probably come back to try that but not the full price menu again.

It was really cool at 9:40pm we could see fireworks, not sure where they were coming from but it was neat to see.
